The idea
Imagine if, in the future, we could see what our digital devices are doing with the help of smart glasses. In the video, a sweeping and vacuuming robot is shown, displaying the tasks it is currently performing and the objects it recognizes in its surroundings.
Recording the footage
I recorded the footage using my smartphone. I had the intention of creating an augmented reality concept video with it, but I wasn’t sure what exactly I wanted to make.
I minimized movement and used super reflective surfaces to reduce later tracking issues with the footage.
Tools
I used After Effects to track the footage. Once successful, I began building assets in Figma. I then imported the assets into After Effects using the Overloard plugin and animated them.
Future thoughts
I eagerly anticipate a future where I can observe the direction the vacuum is taking. Imagine this: I can tell him, “Behind that corner, there’s a small object on the floor. Could you please clean it up?” It would be an incredibly enjoyable way of interacting.
